New 225-residence community responds to growing gap in modern senior housing on the Eastside
ISSAQUAH, Wash., May 27, 2026 — The Springs Living, a Portland-based senior living operator with 30 years of experience and 23 communities across Oregon, Washington and Montana, will break ground Tuesday, June 3 on a new senior living community in Issaquah Highlands, its first in the Seattle region.
Issaquah Mayor Mark Mullet will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony and offer remarks.
WHAT: Groundbreaking ceremony for The Springs Living Issaquah, a 225-residence senior living community offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care
WHO:
- Mayor Mark Mullet, City of Issaquah
- Fee Stubblefield, Founder and CEO, The Springs Living
- Brenda Connelly, President, The Springs Living
- PMD, GBD Architects, McKenzie Architects, Exxel Pacific Leadership
- Invited: Select Issaquah City Council members, Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce leadership, healthcare and community partners
WHEN: Tuesday, June 3, 2026 | 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
WHERE: 850 8th Ave NE, Issaquah, WA 98028, adjacent to Swedish Issaquah, near Gateway Park
WHY IT MATTERS: The Eastside's 65-plus population is growing rapidly while the existing supply of senior housing has not kept pace, much of it physically outdated and not designed for how people want to live and age today. The Springs Living enters the market with a model that integrates modern design, full-continuum care, and community connection, without a large upfront buy-in, filling a gap no current Issaquah offering fully addresses.
The community, expected to open in late 2028, will create hundreds of local jobs across caregiving, culinary, hospitality, and operations.
MEDIA ACCESS: media are welcome to attend. Photo and video opportunities will include the ceremonial groundbreaking, remarks from Mayor Mullet and The Springs Living executives, and site visuals.
A press release with full details, photos, and executive quotes will be distributed at 7:00 a.m. on June 3, with a post-event recap and photography available by 1:30 p.m.
