If you are beginning your search for retirement or assisted living, we expect you to have a lot of questions. This list may help but if your question is not shown, please reach out to us through phone, email or form. We’re here for you.

Services

What are assisted living service levels?

Service levels are established after a comprehensive assessment with the resident, their family or trusted friend/caregiver, and a nurse from The Springs Living. These are private conversations that help create the resident’s individual care plan. Based on the individual’s needs to live comfortably in the community, a service level and costs are assigned. Residents in assisted living enjoy all the features, amenities and services of the community.

Is there a salon/barbershop within the community?

Salon/barbershops are operated on-site by licensed professionals.

How will I get to where I need to go?

If appropriate for you, there is space onsite for you to keep and park your vehicle. We are also happy to provide transportation for you as needed. In addition to set times for shopping trips, scheduled days are set aside to provide transportation to doctor’s appointments within a certain radius of our community. We are happy to schedule drop-offs and pick-ups for you.

Does The Springs Living offer Concierge Services and what does this cover?

Concierge Services are available at The Springs Living and includes scheduling appointments, coordinating travel plans, reserving the private dining room, computer assistance, coordinating dry cleaning, alterations, pharmacy services, event planning and room reservations.

Is Weekly Housekeeping included in rent?

Weekly Housekeeping is covered in your monthly rent.

Are there Exercise Classes on-site?

Instructor-led exercise classes are available on-site at no extra charge.

Amenities

What are the apartment floor plan options?

Every community has a variety of apartment types and floor plan options that may include studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, up to three-bedroom. Check out the floor plans online or ask to see them during your tour.

What is Fancho’s Public House, and is there one at every location?

Fancho’s Public House is a casual dining area with a bar at most of The Springs Living communities. You will find a full menu and large selection of beverages. The intention is to provide a place for family and friends to gather, linger, and perhaps shoot some pool.

Living at the Community

What kind of activities are planned each month?

Life Enrichment covers a wide range of activities so residents may experience the dimensions of wellness from physical fitness to creative outlets and continual learning. Every day you’ll find a wealth of planned activities and monthly events. Ask to see the month’s activity calendar during your tour.

What are the meal times and seating arrangements?

Independent Living and Assisted living meal times are open and flexible throughout most of the day and evening. There are no pre-arranged seating assignments. The Springs Living emphasizes the importance of nutritious and delicious dining so chef-inspired meals are a key feature of a program we call The Art of Delicious! Be sure to stay for a meal during your tour.

How does The Springs Living involve the family?

The Springs Living recognizes the importance of family members and welcomes all generations to enjoy our dining and attend community events. One of our primary aims is to take care of all the chores so families can enjoy their time together.

How will I know that the staff is trained properly?

All staff are trained for their role and responsibilities. The Springs Living provides continual education courses to keep staff up-to-date and current. The Health Services team are licensed and/or certified to meet or exceed the expectations of the state in which they serve. We are proud to say that our communities often exceed state requirements with outcomes that are frequently found to include “deficiency-free” (perfect scores) surveys.

How long has The Springs Living been in business, and how big is it?

Since 1996, The Springs Living has been creating comfortable communities for seniors to live with independence, assistance and memory care services. With careful and thoughtful planning, the company has grown to eleven communities in Oregon and four in Montana.

Independent Living

I still drive, will I have a parking space?

Parking spaces are available for residents with cars. Transportation to scheduled appointments, shopping and events is available to all residents and part of your monthly rent.

Am I allowed to bring my pet with me?

Small, well-behaved pets are welcome at The Springs Living communities.

Instructor-led exercise classes are available on-site designed for all fitness levels as part of your monthly rent.

Are my family and friends able to stay for meals?

Your guests are welcome to dine with you, just ask the concierge how to pay for their meals.

What is the dining program at The Springs Living communities?

Dining rooms are open throughout most of the day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus offer choices for a variety of dietary requirements and seasonal favorites. Ask about the meal plans available during your tour and be sure to stay for a meal.

Assisted Living

What if my partner needs assisted living and I do not?

Even if you are fully independent and require no care, you are welcome to live with your loved one in an assisted living apartment. You will only pay for the care your partner needs.

Are meals included?

When you move into Assisted Living, all your meals and snacks through the day are included in your monthly rent. If you wish to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at Fancho’s Public House, in one of our Oregon communities there may be a charge.

How is my level of care determined?

When you move in, our nurse will confidentially meet with you (and your family, if applicable) to assess your needs and determine what would be appropriate for your care. We will continue to meet with you every three months to ensure you are receiving the care you need.

If I move into Assisted Living am I restricted from participating in the activities of those in Independent Living?

Residents in assisted living enjoy all the features, amenities and services of The Springs Living community.

How do I know if Assisted Living is right for me?

If you are requiring assistance with activities of daily living such as management of your medication, personal hygiene, dressing or grooming, then assisted living is probably a good fit over independent living. All residents will meet with qualified health services personnel for a thorough assessment prior to move in.

Footsteps® Memory Care

What if my partner needs memory care and I do not?

If your loved one is living in Footsteps®, you are free to visit as often and as long as you wish. They may also join you in the larger community for a special activity or a family meal. Whether you are living in independent living, assisted living, or still in your family home, our goal is to make it easier for you to spend time with your loved one.

My loved one is incontinent, how do you handle this?

Incontinence is common for residents in Footsteps and The Springs Living is able to purchase incontinent products on your behalf and have them available at all times. No need to worry about stocking up.

Can my loved one leave Footsteps overnight?

Your loved one is free to leave Footsteps with their family members or guardians and enjoy time away as desired.

The Springs Living provides a loving, caring and safe environment where all residents are treated with dignity and respect. Because Footsteps is a protected area, residents are free to move about and explore and family members can visit comfortably.
