Ample lighting has become a crucial concern for senior housing including improvements in artificial lighting. New technologies like color tuning LED lights can be programmed to mimic the natural flow of daylight throughout the day. The Springs at Carman Oaks converted a portion of its units to include this new LED light technology. According to Chuck Archer, director of development for The Springs Living, “When our residents wake up in the morning we can have them wake up to this warm, rich light; during the day these lights get brighter.” The color tuning and brightness helps with our circadian rhythm also aiding in eating, sleeping and an overall sense of well-being.
